Gister is a Google Chrome Extension that aims to make sharing code snippets easier than ever before. Gister allows users to highlight, submit and share code, all through a simple and intuitive interface. Gister utilities GitHub's public Gist API to make POST requests which in turn, generate Gists of the code snippets submitted by users.
To activate Gister, simply highlight the code or text that you wish to copy, and press your assigned command key (default is Alt + G). This will then open up a dialogue box which will allow you to add a name, description and file type to your code snippet. From here you can submit the code snippet, and you shall receive a shareable URL within a few seconds.
It should be noted that this extension has been created by a university student who has no association with GitHub. This is not an official GitHub product, but more simply a pet project of an aspiring developer who is aiming to help create useful software solutions.
Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
