Google's web based imaging viewing programs, first picasa web then google+, have always lacked a very important feature. The ability to created nested folders, or tags as Google is going to these days.
To try and help solve this problem while we wait for Google to add the desired feature, I have created this extension for Chrome which creates a folder structure when viewing your albums in Google plus.
It is a port from my picasaweb extension, currently it only works on the Albums tab of Google+'s photo viewer, sometimes you have to refresh the page to get it to run as the javascript navigation functions Google+ uses don't trigger it after the first time.
Use the albums naming notation:
Folder/Folder/Folder/Album
e.g. Vacations/Year2012/Beach

4/7/2014: Google changed things again, all this patch does is make the extension function as it did before with the changes. It does do a better job of sorting the new "Copy" function since it had to be repaired anyway.
6/27/2013: Alphabetized the albums, also removed the restriction of not allowing parent album paths to be albums themselves. Now all albums should show, none should be lost. Also long album names are forced to break to the next line even without spaces.
6/21/2013: Google+ changed quite a bit breaking this extension, most of the functionality has now been repaired; after actually opening an album the page does now need to be refreshed to get the script to work correctly, still working on that.
4/29/2013: I fixed quite a few of the bugs that caused you to have to refresh the page to get your albums sorted. I also added a feature to alphabetically sort the 'Add to album' popup; it can be turned off in settings.
4/25/2013: This is only version 0.21 and there is a bit of work to do, but I think it is a good start.
