How many times has this happened to you? Me, I've lost count.
So I developed this extension. It's incredibly simple. Once you've installed, it will blank out your facebook newsfeed, while leaving your chat windows remain intact (because we still haven't figured out how to survive without chat!).
That's it. You can now keep in touch with friends while not being distracted by facebook. You're welcome. I'm glad it helps.

To disable this extension in orde to browse facebook:
- Browse to chrome://extensions/
- Find the extension "Block Facebook" and uncheck "Enable".
