What is ByteFence Secure Browsing extension?
ByteFence Secure Browsing protects you from browsing to malicious URLs, warns you from unwanted downloads and allows you to safely search the web for your desired contents. For your safety, harmful websites are automatically blocked before they load.
How can I easily search for images or videos?
Right above the search box, click on the category you are interested in, type your keywords in the search box and click on the "search" button.
"Replace the page you see when opening a new tab"
This allows us to show you our product - a new tab page with free web search and other tools for your convenience
tabs - The extension requires this permission in order to allow payment for distribution affiliates and show a better user experience.
Manage your apps, extensions, and themes (Management) - The extension requires this permission in order to allow you to disable or remove our extension easily from different menus in the extension interface.
“Read and change all your data on the websites you visit” - In order to protect your browsing experience, we use the “All URLs” permission in order to detect and mark suspicious links.
"webRequest", "webRequestBlocking" - The extension requires this permission in order to control your default search engine and provide you with search results. It allows us to provide you with a search feature related to the extension you have chosen to install. It also allows the extension to redirect specific queries to affiliated partners in order to allow you better browsing experience.
"contextMenus"- The extension requires this permission in order to make the access to the Privacy Policy and About pages as convenient as possible, through the extension “browser action” button.
“Cookies” - The extension requires these permissions in order to allow payment for distribution affiliates.
How do I uninstall the ByteFence Secure Browsing extension?
On top right of your screen, right click the Extension icon and choose "Remove from Chrome".
In order to support the features of the extension, the browser's new tab and default search settings are modified.
