Description

This tool checks a webpage and recursively the linked pages for any broken links until a specified recursive depth is reached. Once the check has been completed the result will be available in a neat CSV file.

A special feature is the possibility of narrowing down the search by only checking for links that are inside a certain HTML DOM element (specified a CSS selector) and furthermore by being able to exlude links that contain special keywords (e.g. logout, signout, delete or remove) or that do NOT contain a defined string.

-------------------

Instructions:

Open the page to be initially checked.
Click on the extension icon in the top right corner.
Enter parameters:

Maximum recursive depth
Default: 2 (checks all links on current page and again all links on pages linked to on the initial page)

Only continue checking for URLs containing
(leave blank if not needed)
Example: example.com (won’t check any further on e.g. test.com pages, that example.com or any of its subpages might have linked to)

Don't visit URLs containing
(separate by comma, leave blank if not needed)
Default: logout,signout,delete,remove
Only check links in DOM elements qualified by
(use CSS selector syntax, leave blank if not needed)
Example: #contentSectionB (only selects HTML element with ID “contentSectionB”)

Click “Initiate check”.
CSV file will be generated. Open with Excel. Apply filter -> Exclude Status = OK.

What has inspired us?

Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
