IG: dm (Instagram Direct MESSENGER) is a desktop application used to continue your chat in Instagram from mobile devices to your computer - just like WhatsApp.
Although IG: dm is built to support all platforms (macOS, Linux and Windows), there are some known problems that can arise when trying to run it on computers running Windows or Linux. Here is a list of them and possible workarounds.
Through Instagram Direct, you can send messages to one user, or several at once. You can send via Instagram Direct:
- Pictures taken by you or uploaded from the gallery of photos and videos
- Publications that you see in the Ribbon
- Vanishing photos and videos
- Profiles
- Text
- Hashtags
- Places
If the publication is sent through Instagram Direct, only those to whom it is already available will be able to see it. For example, if a publication is sent from a closed account as a message, only the subscribers of that account will be able to see it.
Photos and videos sent through Instagram Direct can not be published via Instagram on other sites, such as Facebook or Twitter. They also will not appear on the pages of hashtags and places.
