Periscope Player is a desktop app that lets users stream music from their Subsonic server directly to their laptop.

If you're looking for a way to stream music from anywhere in the world, Periscope Player can let you do it. Even better, it's easy to use and offers lots of different skins to suit any taste, as long as you don't mind some of the slightly dated looking skins.

One of Periscope Player's greatest perks is the ability to view all of your music in a single screen. Not only that, the player's songs are locally cached so once you've streamed it once, you're done. Same goes for the cover art. You can also create playlists just by grouping and sorting on the main grid with Periscope Player.

In this new version of the app, the lite version is now available for free. Some of the options may be disabled but the playback isn't limited to 30 seconds any more, which is a huge plus. You also have full control of Periscope Player using your keyboard; you can assign a custom shortcuts for playback control.

If integration is important to you, Periscope Player does a decent job. It is integrated with both Last.fm and also Twitter.
