Description

My love for art began as a small child, drawing pictures in school for my parents and grandparents. I would ask my mom for jewellery making kits and run around the house in cute little beads, feeling so proud of myself. Eventually aged 9 or 10, my parents bought me my very own domestic sewing machine for Christmas, which I still use to this day. With this my mom taught me how to sew, helping me make a glittery top for my primary school's disco. From then on I knew I loved to create.

Throughout my education, art and design was always my main area of interest. When it came to applying for university, I honestly didn't really know what it was I wanted to do. I had planned to do fine art, but chose to do something different and tried my luck at a fashion degree.

By the time I was in my second year at university, I had been thinking about starting up my own business. One of our modules was to do some form of work experience, which gave me the perfect opportunity to try out a small business. I loved being able to do my own thing and work for myself, designing and manufacturing whatever it was I wanted. After years of not really knowing what I wanted to do with myself after finishing my education, I finally found something I enjoyed and was good at!

During my last year of study, I was so anxious to get started with 1415. I wanted to get started ASAP, so wasn't left with much time to design a whole collection. Instead, I looked at my graduate collection and redesigned it to make it more modern, wearable and tailored to suit my customers.

I created 1415, with it's début collection “Fallen Doves” taking control of my career's future and providing unique, beautiful designs to people all over the world. 1415 is a way for me to showcase my work, in a way that I be proud of. Seeing other people wearing my clothes is amazing!
