WebSafe 365 extension allows parents to control which websites kids access on their chrome web browser.
Once parent install the extension, they can pair the extension with WebSafe 365 mobile app (app will be submitted to Google App store soon) by scaning a QR code using parents mobile app.
After pairing chrome browser and parents mobile app successfully, access to any websites will be blocked by default.
When you access a website on chrome, local html page (permission.html) will be shown to the chrome user. This webpage provides a REQUEST PERMISSION button.
When chrome user click REQUEST PERMISSION , a HTTP request is been made to https://websafe365.com/ .
Backend API at websafe365.com will then send a google firebase push message to the parent mobile app.
This notification contains the website that chrome user tried to access on the browser and it will be shown on parent mobile app. Parent can then decide to either allow or disallow the request.
if parent click allow access on their mobile app, chrome browser will redirected to requested page within 15 seconds. If they reject the request, website will be remained blocked on chrome browser.
This app helps parents to restrict what websites children access on their chrome browser.
