Anonymous direct messages for Instagram adds an incognito mode to Instagram direct messages and stories. Hide your actions from other IG users.
You can enable/disable incognito mode only for stories or only for messages(or for both), according to your preferences. Open extension settings popup(click on extension icon) to manage extension settings.
By default incognito mode is enabled both for stories and messages.
All Instagram users will not receive a notification that you've watched their stories if the incognito story option is enabled.
Please note, that you have to manually choose which user will not be notified, that you've read a message(click an 'eye' button next to the user name on the direct messages page to do this). After that, you are free to watch this chat without being seen. If you don't choose any person to 'block', all chats will work as usual even with an enabled incognito option in the extension settings popup.
All "blocked" chats will be pointed as "unread" not only for your conversation partner, but for you too. Even if you've already read new messages from it. Now we are working to override this behavior and hide your "unread" marks. We will release this feature as soon as it will be ready.
