MapCortex - Desktop and Web Map Solutions for Education and Productivity!
The MapCortex for Chrome tool is a little gadget for your Chrome browser to help you start the most suitable MapCortex Application. At this moment we cater for two type of mapping tools that can be launched from this Chrome extension:
1. Free Basic Web Map Tool:
This is organically built into your Chrome web browser environment, the application is built for Chrome - although it is expected to run in other browser environment as well.
So what can you do with the basic tool?
- Draw and measure on street maps, aerial photography and on illustrative maps as well. These measurements are supported using a wide range of measures (even hectares and acres). Find out coordinates of given points of the map by clicking on them.
- Select basemaps from over 12 different categories such as Topography, Oceans and National Geographic.
- Create Bookmarks of interesting areas so you can navigate back on the map very easily.
- Search and locate addresses anywhere on the earth.
2. Free Windows Desktop Map Tool
This is an advanced version of the Basic Web Map Tool. It has the following features:
- Draw on street-map or satellite view, add lines, polygons and icons as you please.
- Snap lines and polygons together while you draw them.
- Save this drawing and load it in next time you log in.
- Share your drawing with your friends, who can continue editing it. - Bookmark interesting areas on a map.
- Post the ready drawings on our website for free (ok, the first 5 is free).
- Add hyperlink to your screenshots - boost your website SEO with GEO :)
- Search and zoom for addresses using Bing Maps address search functionality.
Both tools can be started from this extension. The MapCortex for Chrome extension will also enable users to do the following tasks in the future release:
- Save website URL along with your access locations, access date on a map.
- Show server location's of websites currently opened in your browser.
