Unlike most other password generator extensions, PassGen uses cryptographically secure functions to generate a truly random password.
Stop using the same weak passwords everywhere. Use PassGen to generate strong unique passwords for your various online accounts.
- Combine numbers, upper case, lower case and symbols.
- Pick an exact password length or specify a custom range to let PassGen pick a random length within that range.
- Exclude certain characters.
- Generated passwords will be automatically copied to your clipboard.
Most other similar extensions uses the Math.random() function to generate random passwords. This is not secure at all and is quite predictable. PassGen uses RandomSource.getRandomValues() to generate cryptographically random values.
PassGen does not store any generated passwords. That's up to you to do.
