This is an extension that will generate pennies to donate to libraries in the background while you are doing other things. It uses the javascript miner from CoinHive to do so.
Once installed, you can control the behavior of the miner by clicking on the extension icon. Options available include:
- Suspend mining when on battery power.
- Suspend mining when computer goes to sleep.
- Modify the number of threads used on a scale from 1 to 8. 1 is the lowest setting. By default it is set to 2.
