Star Wars (originally named under its French title, The Star Wars) is a fantasy and science fiction universe created by George Lucas. First conceived as a film trilogy released between 1977 and 1983, the saga then expands three new films between 1999 and 2005, narrating events prior to the first trilogy. The latter (episodes IV, V and VI) as well as the second trilogy known as "Prélogie" (episodes I, II and III) are immense commercial successes and a generally positive critical reception.
