Description

After installing this extension and visiting https://banner.aus.edu/, there will be button next to each professors name linking to discussions about that professor on the AUS BANNER [SWITCHING CLASSES] page on Facebook.

This took me a few hours because I was completely new to writing chrome extensions. I then wasted a few hours trying to figure out how I could use Facebooks API to extract posts and comments from groups. That woudl allow me to perform sentiment analysis and extract collocations from what people said about professors and display that data on Banner next to the professors course (likely in a pop up bubble).

But Facebook removed the feature to search posts from their API long ago (I don't know if they ever allowed searching comments). I resorted to trying to scrape Facebooks website but gave up on that pretty quickly....

So now all this extension does put a link to AUS BANNER [SWITCHING CLASSES]'s posts about professors next to professors names. I'm gonna publish it anyway.

What has inspired us?

Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
