Castlevania

Description

Castlevania is a series of video arcade games, created and developed by Konami. This series debuted in Japan with the first version of Akumajō Dracula for the Famicom Disk System (FDS) platforms and one month later for MSX 2 in 1986. Even though the version of MSX 2 (which was known in Europe as Vampire Killer) was the first version released for sale outside of Japan, this was not the original version. In America it was not known until the FDS version was reprogrammed in cartridge format for NES in 1987, under the title of Castlevania. This has often led to confusion about which platform came first, clearly being in the Famicom Disk System.
Castlevania was the beginning of the acclaimed saga of Konami that still continues to be strong.
In the role of Simon Belmont, the vampire hunter, you'll have to fight your way through Dracula's castle, where through six challenging levels you'll face ghosts, goblins, demons and many more supernatural creatures to reach the count.
You will need your common sense and your weapons to survive, because when you finally find Dracula, it will surely go straight to your jugular.

Playability
Castlevania is the typical arcade game of the 8-bit era: The game consists of six levels that are played through a strict linear progression. The player takes control of Simon Belmont whose primary mode of attack is the use of his whip, which can be improved by obtaining special items through the game that can extend its length.
In addition, various sub-weapons can be obtained which provide different forms of attack. Breaking candlesticks and other objects Simon can collect hearts that can be used to activate any sub-weapon he possesses at that point. Simon cannot possess more than one sub-weapon at a time.
Each level of the arcade game concludes with a fight with a boss usually inspired by horror literature and legends, such as a vampire bat, jellyfish, mummies, Frankenstein's monster, Igor, death and finally Dracula.
