Description

Learn to Fly 3 is the third game in the Learn to Fly series.

Unlike the first 2, this game features flying up vertically to space rather than gliding horizontally. The sliding ramp was also replaced by a series of items called “launchers” which assist you on the initial takeoff.

Players can now make various combinations of items to reach their goal. They can have up to:

1 body (The “ship”, the “frame” you attach everything to)

1 launcher (Gets you off the ground. Things like spring, slingshot, cannons…)

4 stages (Main means of propulsion, they are used automatically and one after the other)

4 boosts (Can be active or passive items that offer you bonuses or additional thrust)

No money is lost for selling or downgrading, which is meant to encourage players to mess around with different builds and items. A large part of the game is actually finding the perfect strategy that will get you higher.

The game offers 4 different “modes”:

Story Mode (main game) where the goal is to reach space with enough momentum to leave earth

Payload Mode where the goal is to reach certain altitudes with weights attached to the player

Classic Mode where the aim is to travel horizontally like in older games, though there is no gliding mechanic.

Sandbox Mode where the player can mess around with various game constants and use the game more as a toy.

The bonus shop has even more items than before, and one important change is the Omega Catalog – which allowed the player to purchase overpowered items in Learn to Fly 2 – which has been replaced by the “over-levels” items. The player can buy items which allows him to upgrade bodies, launchers, stages and boosts up to 30 levels beyond their regular max. Those levels are far less cost-efficient, but essentially allow any build to be very powerful.

Another difference with Learn to Fly 2 is that HUDs and no longer tied to the body the player is using. Instead, the player can spend bonus points on buying different HUDs or even creating a fully customizable display with the information he wants, wherever on screen.

The game also offers character customization which does not affect gameplay in any way. The custom penguin will then appear in-game with most bodies the player can buy.

By default, the game offers 10 bodies, 9 launchers, 9 stages and 9 boosts, for a total of 37 items all of which can be upgraded multiple times. Almost every item goes through 3 different visual aspect when upgrading, giving you around 100 different items.

On top of that, every time the player completes a play-through in Story, Payload or Classic mode, he gets to pick a booster pack which contains Bonus Points but also new and unique items to play with. There are 22 extra items to be unlocked in his game, for a total of 59 which can all be upgraded and mixed in different combinations for maximum effect.

What has inspired us?

Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
