The Los Angeles Lakers is a basketball club based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in Minneapolis in 1947 and moved to Los Angeles in 1960. The name of the Lakers comes from the nickname of Minneapolis, the land of thousands of lakes, referring to people who work or live in the Great Lakes in the Northeast. Due to the color of the jersey, the Lakers are also known as the "Zijin Army."
