Intended for streamers who use OBS Studio (http://obsproject.com)
If you like to watch YouTube videos or listen to YouTube playlists while you stream, this extension will write the video title and uploader's name to a text file which you can use as a text source in OBS. OBS text sources automatically update, so the layout object will always update as a new video starts.
You can specify a format for the display of this message and toggle turning it on or off (it will always trigger the download bar which can be annoying if you're just trying to watch videos and not stream, so you can disable it from your toolbar when you like).
USING WITH OBS STUDIO:
- While you have this extension enabled, it will download a file called "current-youtube-output.txt" every time a new YouTube video plays in your browser. It will always overwrite the same file.
- In OBS Studio, under Sources, add a new Text source and check off "Read from file". Navigate to your downloads folder and select "current-youtube-output.txt"
- Style and format it however you want using OBS Studio's options.
- It will automatically update whenever a new YouTube video starts in Chrome. Does not need to be the active tab.
