YouTube™ brings enormous value, but it's optimised to make you spend as long on it as possible, regardless of whether that's actually time well spent. This extension redesigns YouTube to minimise distraction and return the feeling of control and agency to users.
All distracting features like autoplay and recommended videos have been removed and there are deliberate pauses between navigating to pages to give you a moment to think.
The main design principle is that there is only one choice for each action in the user interface at any given time. In essence, all the potential rabbit holes have been plugged.
To the extent possible, we have tried to remove videos from the results which are more popular but less relevant and only show you what you actually searched for.
