We at Senexx had enough of this! So we built a chrome extension that enables you to search through contact's connections. So for instance, if you like to find all Microsoft's leads within your 1st degree contact's connections, open his connections list and you'll find out that there's a new search box just for that reason.
In addition, you can make use of LinkedIn search, find all 2nd degree Microsoft connections and filter by your 1st degree connection!
