The Boondocks is an American cartoon created by Aaron McGruder. The animation is the same as the time and space setting of the comic book of the same name. The black family, the three grandfathers of Freeman, moved from the south of Chicago, Illinois, to a community dominated by white residents in Woodcrest. Many of the comedy elements of the show come from a mix of cultural, lifestyle and ethnic factors.
