The strength of LearnThatWord is effective spaced retrieval practice. It tracks what students know and what needs more review, and makes sure the student gets exactly the amount of practice needed to turn a word into active vocabulary.
LearnThatWord always starts out by checking what you know.
A word that you know is being tagged as known, and a word that you have trouble with is added to your practice cycle.
Once on the practice cycle, we will review the word with you until you enter it correctly over three consecutive quizzes.
If you make an error again, the practice cycle is reset, if you master the challenge, the practice word is tagged as known.
We replace the traditional practice-test cycle with the much more effective test-study concept. This way, you spend all your energy on words that NEED practice.
The focus of our program is not testing, but tutoring.
However, our practice sessions have a test format to check what needs more practice.
