Description

Returns the info stored in the page's "Keywords" and "Description" meta tags as a div on page. This can be used to verify the info manually or along with test automation tools like Selenium and Galen to assert values of SEO meta tags added on the application under test.

You need to launch the browser with the add-on installed. On page load finish, a div will be added at the bottom of the page displaying the information from meta tags.

Note: Currently, information is shown only for domains ending with .com and .net. But you can add your particular domain and subdomain by cloning the code repo and modifying manifest.json.

Also, it is an assumption that assertions for meta tags (for which, this add-on is particularly created for) are not a part of test suite requiring other interactions like clicking on other elements of the page. The displayed div is at a particular z-index level which can interfere with other elements on the page (will make elements un-clickable by selenium scripts if they overlap). So again, you are welcome to contribute to the source on github and make the tool more useful.

What has inspired us?

Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
