Novak Djokovic, born May 22, 1987 in Belgrade, is a Serbian tennis player.
Professional since 2003, Novak Djokovic has won 67 singles titles on the ATP circuit, including 12 Grand Slam tournaments, 5 Masters and 30 Masters 1000, of which he is the co-recorder of titles in this category.
In 2016, he won the Australian Open for the sixth time, equaling Roy Emerson's record set in 1967, and won his first career at Roland-Garros to complete a Grand Slam on two horses seasons.
Novak Djokovic is the first player to simultaneously hold the trophies of the four major tournaments since Rod Laver in 1969. He is also the only Open Age player to have won five consecutive major titles: Wimbledon 2015, US Open 2015, Masters Cup 2015 , Australian Open 2016, Roland-Garros 2016.
Djokovic made the Petit Slam in 2011 and 2015, as well as the Grand Slam riding two seasons between Wimbledon 2015 and Roland-Garros 2016. Its 2015 season is considered one of the best in the history of ATP with those of Rod Laver in 1969 and Roger Federer in 2006, totaling eleven titles (three Grand Slam tournaments, the Masters, six Masters 1000, and an ATP 500) and a record of 83 victories for 6 defeats. Only the Cincinnati Masters 1000 and the Olympic gold medal are still missing. He won the bronze at the Olympics in 2008 and then the Davis Cup with the Serbian team in 2010. Djokovic also has the highest total ATP score achieved by a single player with 16,950 points on 6 June 2016, the day after his coronation in Roland-Garros.
Novak Djokovic reached first place in the world for the first time on July 4, 2011, and finished No. 1 at the end of the 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 seasons. He was voted best ATP player in the same four years.
