Reading is every child’s right. And—with Read With Me powered by Intel Education—children can quickly become powerful readers while having fun in the process.
Read With Me is a student literacy and reading tool for grades K-2 (and their teachers) designed to:
• Prepare students for ongoing reading assessments through a library of custom-illustrated stories
• Provide a fun and engaging way for students to practice reading by using the power of speech recognition
• Support teachers with actionable data regarding student reading progress
Whimsical illustrations draw children closer. Compelling characters ensnare imaginations. And speech recognition technology makes the whole experience personal and immersive.
Read With Me features a library of over three-dozen engaging and beautifully illustrated stories for early readers. Students read the stories aloud, practicing their literacy and pronunciation. Afterwards, they are given ratings and avenues for improvement.
As students gain proficiency, they unlock new reading levels and more challenging stories.
The current version contains leveled stories suitable for students from kindergarten through second grade.

Requirements
• Chromebook and/or device with a Chrome browser
• Google Education, Google Enterprise, or Gmail account
• Reliable Internet connection
• Microphone (for best results, use a headset)

How It Works
• Open Read With Me and choose either “I am a Teacher” or “I am a Student”
• Students choose their Grade Level and pick a Character Image
• Students then select a book from the library and simply tap a story to read.
• Read With Me prompts students for a quick sound check to make sure their microphone is working properly
• Students tap the Start arrow then read each page of the story aloud
• When the student is finished, Read With Me assigns them a score as well as suggestions for improvement, such as a list of words to practice
• When certain literacy criteria are met after reading a number of stories, the next reading level is unlocked. The student now has access to stories that match their current reading level.
• Students can view their reading history to see what books they’ve read and their scores
• Meanwhile, teachers can see what books students have read, when they started, how long it took them to complete, how many times they read the story, and their overall reading rating. Teachers can also access a student’s suggested words to practice.
