The first in a series, the paid version of Word Sorts 5 to 7 consists of 161 word sorts customised for the second stage of spelling development – LETTER NAME ALPHABETIC SPELLERS. This stage is suited to children aged 5-7. In this extensive app, you will find a range of word sorts for: beginning consonants; same short vowel word families; digraphs; consonant blends; mixed short vowel cvc words; mixed short vowel consonant blends and digraphs; and preconsonantal nasals. Word sorts take a variety of forms, including some standard sorts, some mystery sorts (letters missing), and some jumbled sorts. Students are both scaffolded and challenged as they progress through the word sorts.
