Imagine the following scenario - you land on a foreign language website. While you are quite familiar with this language, there is one particular word that you still don't know ( or just can't remember it - it's ok :) ). Simply mark the word, move the mouse back and forth and ... ta da - the translation is here!
In summary, this small extension can do following for you:
• translation of a single word ( entire passages can't be translated - for such a task you should probably use google translator )
• translated words remain on the website sticked as references - thus you can later repeat the whole thing again ( to learn some new words never hurts )
• for each translated word there are plenty of alternatives - if you never get enough of it. Simply tap on the translation box to open it
• Incredibly easy to use - learning new cryptic shortcuts is completely eliminated ( but if you have a fondness for keyboard shortcuts, you can use them too )
• ( maybe ) let you learn some new words
• it looks good
What you will not find in this extension:
• there is no annoying advertising or any tracking built-in - I made this extension for me too and ... I don't like such things either.
I have lots of other ideas for this extension. If you have the possibility to donate me a strong coffee it would motivate me even more to work on new features. Your own suggestions are of course always welcome.
The translation data is submitted by 'glosbe', a free dictionary. The quality of the translation may eventually not reach other vendors ... but it's made by people for people. If you feel like it and have some time, visit 'glosbe' and help to improve the dictionary.
