कृदन्तदर्शिका -- Kṛdanta-darśikā -- is aimed at Sanskrit beginners who want to strengthen their grip on Kṛdanta forms of various Dhātu's.
On any web page, whenever you come across a word (writen in Devanāgari script) that you suspect is a Kṛdanta, simply double click on it. This extension will then tell you if it is so, by showing which Dhātu(s) it comes from. For each such Dhātu, it will also show a few common other Kṛdanta forms.
Take the word विनायकः, for example. कृदन्तदर्शिका can show you -- just at one click -- the underlying dhātu नी, and also some other Kṛdanta forms that the combination वि+नी can produce, like विनेतुं, विनीतः, विनयः etc. This aids you in developing intuition of how different dhātu's behave.
Kṛdanta forms are always shown in the following order:
तुमुँन्, क्त्वा/ल्यप्, क्त, ल्युट्, शतृँ/शानच्, घञ्/अच्/अप्, ण्वुल्, यत्/र्ण्यत्/क्यप्.
What about तव्यत् and तृच्? Well, you can derive them from the तुमुँन् form (e.g. replace तुं with तव्य etc), and AFAIK, it always works. Similarly, क्तवतु is always just क्त + वत्.
अनीयर् is *almost* always deducible from ल्युट् with some exceptions like दंशनीयम् vs दशनम्.
These are the most common forms. For other forms, you can click on the link that each Dhātu comes with. The link takes you to sanskritabhyas.in which shows a more comprehensive and detailed table. (Credits: I'm grateful to sanskritabhyas.in whose Kridanta/View/* pages were used extensively for building this extension.)
Kṛdanta words within compound words are not recognized yet. You can manually edit them out in the textbox given, and hit ENTER. For example, suppose the word is भक्तावासम्. You can get clever by editing out वासम्. The resulting word भक्ता, as it happens, is a Kṛdanta (in Strīliṅga) coming from the root भज्. You can also search for वासम्, आवास etc right then and there.
There are some other limitations too. We have left out several Kṛt Pratyayas (e.g. क्तिन्), we are not supporting the case of multiple upasargas (e.g व्यपगतः), to mention a few.
If you like the extension, spread the word :) Either way, send your feedback on https://forms.gle/VUzn9PkFUVNP4DSb9. Or join the twitter thread https://twitter.com/sumanthegde/status/1622970414225051648. Every review is immensely valueable.
Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
