nginx [engine x] is an HTTP server and reverse proxy server, a mail proxy server, and a general-purpose TCP / UDP proxy server, originally written by Igor Sysoev. For a long time he serves the servers of many high-load Russian sites, such as Yandex, Mail.Ru, VKontakte and Rambler. According to statistics Netcraft nginx served or proxy 24.28% of the most loaded sites in May 2018.
