I get rid of the distracting things, which is basically everything on the home page. I also get rid of the red notifications. Whenever you do have any notifications, the icon will just be highlighted, so at least this won't be as distracting or enticing as a bright red alert bubble.
I put an inspirational message right in the middle of the screen so that you're sure to question your reasons why you are currently on facebook.
Time is our most precious resource. Don't waste it on facebook!
