Internet Archive(archive.org) provides free public access to collections of digitalized materials. Books are for download, borrow or lend. Borrowed books can only be read online. The extension let you get the borrowed book by downloading each page one by one. After that you can use other tool to combine them to one whole book.
Another extension of CORS is required. For example "Allow CORS: Access-Control-Allow-Origin" works well. It can be installed from https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/allow-cors-access-control/lhobafahddgcelffkeicbaginigeejlf
Usage
1. Set default download folder and make sure any download in the browser does not show "Save as ..." dialog,
2. Enable the CORS extension with the option of Access-Control-Allow-Credentials on.
3. In Internet Archive(archive.org) website, find a book and borrow it, then click the extension button from the toolbar. and press "Download" link in popup window. The downloads will begin.
