Most of us want to use environmentally friendly products but current online platforms such as Amazon or Walmart do not offer many eco-friendly products and lack user experience to easily discover them. Our team is solving this problem by developing a bot that suggests eco friendly alternate products, right when you are about to make a purchase.
Our solution is a Chrome extension that users can click to get eco-friendly alternatives to the product they are viewing. We choose Chrome extension because we want to go where users are making their buying final decisions instead of switching between applications. Our solution also provides a sustainability rating of the company customer is buying the product from, allowing users to make informed decisions and encourage companies with better sustainability scores.
