Any page that has an HTML5 video element on it can now get sideloaded subtitles! It works well with JW Player and Flowplayer. In theory, any HTML5-based video will work, even with native browser controls.
This is a rough first draft so there are a few limitations. Videos in iframes aren't always supported. You can't upload your own subtitles yet. Only URLs which point to zipped SRT format subtitles will work, such as you'd find on opensubtitles.org. Finally, depending on the player and/or website, it may be hard to actually get the subtitles to appear.

Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
