REVIEW WRITING WITH CLEAR SPEECH
As students write, their work is read back to them as each sentence is completed. Research shows that this active engagement with text encourages students to find and correct errors for themselves.

DEVELOP VOCABULARY AND SPELLING WITH WORD PREDICTION
The intelligent predictor suggests words that fit the context of students’ writing. It’s easily customized to the right reading level, helping students to use good vocabulary and create flowing text with accurate spelling. Students can listen to words in both the predictor and the spell checker before using them, helping them to find the word they want.

BUILD WRITING CONFIDENCE WITH WORDBARS
The unique Wordbars provide tabbed vocabulary support for any subject or topic – just click a word to add it to the document. Make your own Wordbars in a flash to support any topic, or get free, ready-made ones from our LearningGrids site, accessible within the app and covering a range of curriculum topics.

CHECK WORDS BEFORE THEY ARE USED
Learners can listen to words before they write them, helping them to find the word they want and achieve writing success. Any word in the predictor, spell checker or Wordbar can be heard before it is used with a simple right-click, or our unique Sound Shift tool.

ACCESS CURRICULUM CONTENT (NEW FOR 2019)
The new built-in DocReader enables students to access PDF worksheets and exam papers, giving a huge boost to their independence and self-esteem. PDFs are opened alongside the main document, and any selection of text can be read aloud. Responses are written either directly into the PDF (if it’s set up for text input), or into the main document. Having the DocReader within the same app makes everything very easy to manage – it’s hugely popular in the desktop version and we’re excited to now include it in the app!

GAIN INDEPENDENCE IN EXAMS (NEW FOR 2019)
Students who quality for additional exam access arrangements can use DocsPlus as their scribe and/or reader. The exam paper is opened in the DocReader and the student’s responses are written either straight into the exam paper, or into the main DocsPlus document. The password-controlled Exam Mode settings prevent students from accessing features that the exam board disallows – these settings are easily customized to fit your exam board rules.

USE IT YOUR WAY
In the simple Settings menu, select American, British or Australian English, and customize the voice, font and colors. Save documents to your Google drive in one of three formats, including Google Document. And DocsPlus works anywhere, whether or not you have an Internet connection.
