All major desktop operating systems are supported. Daedalus runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Daedalus is built with web technologies on top of Electron, a battle-proven open-source platform for writing cross-platform desktop applications or web.
• NEWSFEED (Work in Progress, not included in extension)
The newsfeed delivers news to Daedalus users directly via the user interface. News can be delivered in two ways, depending on its importance. News can be delivered in the newsfeed sidebar, to the right of the Daedalus window – where it can be opened and closed. Vital news may cover the whole screen.
• PERSONALIZATION WITH USER INTERFACE THEMES
Themes allow users to customize the look and feel of the Daedalus wallet. Currently, there are 6 themes available.
• MAXIMUM SECURITY AND FULLY TRUSTLESS OPERATION
Daedalus is a full node open source project. This means that unlike light wallets (e.g.Yoroi, Adalite etc.) Daedalus downloads a full copy of the Cardano blockchain and independently validates every transaction in its history. That way you get maximum security and completely trustless operation, without centrally hosted 3rd party servers.

We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
