The Newsfeed Blocker blocks the newsfeed and stories section of the facebook app.
It is well-documented that the infinite scrolling newsfeed is a product of the attention-economy : The more a user keeps scrolling, the more ad-revenue is generated. The automatically curated newsfeed is designed to put the control back in the user's hand.
This simple extension blocks the newsfeed so users can continue to access facebook for its useful features : Marketplace, direct messaging, groups, etc.
To block newsfeed and stories :
1. Install the extension
2. Open facebook on your browser
3. Click on the "nfb" button on the tool bar.
To unblock the newsfeed and stories:
1. Click the button again.
