雀斑是一种浅褐色小斑点，针尖至米粒大小，常出现于前额、鼻梁和脸颊等处，偶尔也会出现于颈部、肩部、手背等处。为常染色体显性遗传，尤以夏季重，病变的发展与日晒有关。
雀斑白种人中发生率较高，由色素代谢障碍导致，可能和遗传、阳光曝晒、皮肤pH值增高、内分泌失调等因素有关。 黄种人并不常见遗传性雀斑。雀斑一般在3-5岁左右出现，到青春期时加重，随着年龄增长有减淡的趋势。女性居多。好发于面部，特别是鼻和两颊部，手背、颈与肩部亦可发生。色斑为针尖至米粒大，淡褐色到黑褐色斑点，数目不定，从稀疏的几个到密集成群的数百个，孤立不融合。无自觉症状。日晒可激发或使之加重，一般冬轻夏重。
