Let's be honest here, trihex's chat is one the most popular Twitch channels. Yet, honestly, it is also home to the most active/proud otakus and weeaboos on Twitch! There's so many people who lurk in chatrooms (those who watch the stream, but never post - in some cases, don't even register an account!), possibly too shy to interact and want to express themselves, but lack the confidence.
Mai Waifu is an extension of your expression by enabling you to share your love of anime, manga, and (primarily) fictional girls (or guys!) with others in chat - all without any annoying spambots, chat clutter, or meme filler.
It's as simple as:
1) logging into your Twitch account at maiwaif.us (nice huh?)
2) setting your waifu (fill out 5 forms)
3) uploading your favorite image of her (imgur direct links only; gifs allowed)
... and within 5min or less, you're awarded with a new custom BADGE in chat - just like the one you get when you subscribe to someone!
When viewing chat, you can mouseover (or click) the badge to see that fellow chatter's waifu, and even how much of a veteran they are of trihex with follow date and months-as-sub streak!
Finally, the best part, the app works across all of Twitch by default. So that spontaneous connection with your fellow otaku can happen in my chat, or even when waist-deep in the craziest of League of Legion's channel chatrooms! ❤
