Genee is a browser extension with tools to assist with assessment of genomic regions. Users can input selected genomic coordinates to quickly generate a list of overlapping cytogenetic bands, and use the UCSC genome browser to identify contained OMIM morbid and ClinGen dosage sensitive genes of interest. Cytobands, important genes, or other user-generated search terms for a genomic region can be input and paired with qualifying search terms to describe a type of genomic alteration (e.g. a CNV loss may be described as a deletion, a microdeletion, a loss, a partial monosomy, etc.). The tool quickly generates all pairs of search terms and combines them into search queries that can be used to search for relevant scientific literature via Google, Google Scholar, or PubMed.
Additionally, users of the DECIPHER Genomics Genome Browser can employ this tool to quickly copy all documented phenotypes from any DECIPHER Patient page. The phenotypes can be copied as a comma-separated list or formatted on individual lines.
Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
