The HTML5 video player can be controlled with keyboard shortcuts and you can add local 'srt' subtitles to any online video. Currently the color of the subtitles can be changed.
Contrary to other applications, SlimCast does not use DLNA to play videos on the TV, because it does not support seeking in videos and captions. Instead, you need to install a separate program on your Samsung Smart TV. The SlimCast Video Player application supports playback of online videos with seeking and displays 'srt' type subtitles. Your television and computer must be connected to the same local area network or vpn.
The TV streams videos directly from the internet, so the videos even keeps playing when you switch off your computer completely.
