DC Comics is the comic book giant of the United States and Marvel Comics. It was founded in 1934. In June 1938, the company created the world's first superhero, Superman, in the inaugural issue of Action Manga, and rewritten the history of American comics. In May 1939, the company created the world's first superhero without superpowers, Batman, in the 27th issue of Detective Manga. Since then, Superman and Batman have been the signature characters of DC, each with their own serial comics, and also started a long-term partner, known as "the world's best partner." In 1967, the company was officially named DC Comics and it is still in use today. DC was acquired by Time Warner Group in 1969 and is currently a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Entertainment. It owns Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Neptune, Steel Bone, Shazan, Mars Hunter, Arrow Man, Eagle Man, Fire Storm, Atom Man, Blackbird, Blue Beetle, Dr. Destiny.
