Cryptoia is an instant chat app for groups or individuals. All messages are encrypted. No personal information is revealed. Participate in one-on-one or group conversations over a confidential channel. Other parties can join through an Android app. Every chat member needs access to a shared conversation name that can be distributed by email or phone. No other information is required - no email addresses or telephone numbers.
Joining and leaving of parties will be indicated immediately to the other group members.
All messages are relayed through our dedicated service that has no insight in the information passing through, Nothing will be kept on disk. Messages will not be kept in the web app. On the Android device you can delete them.
Cryptoia does not come with industrial strength encryption. Our very light and fast alternative should be enough for acceptable confidenciality. Compared to a safe with a time lock Cryptoia is a well locked cupboard with a couple of keys that you hand out. Do not expect complete security, nor safety from third parties snooping around. We are not encrypting vital files but fast, fleeting messages that you do not want others to sniff off your LAN.
This early version of Cryptoia is published in order to find improvements for the client software and the pub-sub server that relays all messages. Any comment is welcome!
