It's hard knowing which websites and news networks to trust. There are tools out there that try to tell us what is trustworthy and what is fake news, but how do we know we can trust the source of those tools? This extension gives you facts about popular news sites and lets you decide for yourself if it is trustworthy.
Here are a few examples of the types of facts this extension might show you when you visit a certain site:
- What governments or organizations are funding this network, channel, or website?
- Who is the chief editor?
- Is this site linked to any prominent politicians or organizations?
- What organizations has this site received donations from?
But how do we know if the "facts" are really facts?
Each fact will be backed up by at least one source itself and it will be up to you to decide if you trust the source of that fact.
The goal is to show you information about the source and let you decide for yourself.
Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
