MQTT is especially useful for transferring data to your devices. Imagine a device with a controlled cloud to open / close the door remotely. Using MQTT, the device can "listen" to the cloud and receive notifications only if the variable is changed. Thus, the MQTT connection between the device and the cloud remains open, but if necessary, the data is moved only as needed, saving batteries, networks and improving real-time performance.
