Atri is an experiment in how we pay for, and get paid from the web. More specifically, Atri is a chrome extension that lets readers open a $10 per month “fund” that gets distributed to creators. Instead of using pageviews or tip jars, Atri does all the work automatically and distributes the money based on attention - the more attention a creator earns, the more money they earn.
Starting March 1, we’re running Atri as an experiment for 3 months only (join here). We want to see if this will work, but we don’t want to start an indefinite project without testing our ideas first. So we’re going to have 3 months to get as many people (up to 10,000) as possible into Atri, distributing money to creators, and on June 1 we’ll sit down to figure out how it went. We’ll publish our results our blog, and hopefully if things are going well expand the experiment.
Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
